Valentine's Day on a Budget
Like most holidays, I try to put an emphasis on surprise and romance while leaving the hefty price tags at the mall. There's something wonderful about receiving a gift that was made just for you by someone you care for. These 3 Valentine's surprises can all be (and should be) customized for your special someone - and best of all they cost less than $10 to make!
1. Open When Letters
These letters are so easy to make. They can be filled with just a few items each and can be designed to your liking. I love these letters because they can brighten your honey's day when he/she needs it most.

2. Chocolate Cream Cake (or any baked good)
What could be a better gift than a homemade delicious treat. This dessert is definitely extravagant and gift worthy. The ganache and homemade pastry cream add an extra touch of elegance. Feel free to add a border of raspberries or strawberries around the cake for a personal touch! By making a dessert yourself you get to put extra love and sweetness into your treat that your someone will truly appreciate.
P.s. I'm all for baking everything into a heart shape for Valentine's Day! How many times throughout the year can you get away with it after all?

3. Breakfast in Bed
With Valentine's Day falling on a weekday, it just makes sense to put together a lovely to-go breakfast. I just love that a brown paper bag can be transformed into such a special package. You can add fresh fruit, juice, and some homemade baked treats to this cute to-go bag.
