Like most holidays, I try to put an emphasis on surprise and romance while leaving the hefty price tags at the mall. There's something wonderful about receiving a gift that was made just for you by someone you care for. These 3 Valentine's surprises can all be (and should be) customized for your special someone - and best of all they cost less than $10 to make!

1. Open When Letters

What could be a better gift than a homemade delicious treat. This dessert is definitely extravagant and gift worthy. The ganache and homemade pastry cream add an extra touch of elegance. Feel free to add a border of raspberries or strawberries around the cake for a personal touch! By making a dessert yourself you get to put extra love and sweetness into your treat that your someone will truly appreciate.

3. Breakfast in Bed
