Chai Tea Latte
Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a coffee fend. Like really. I love coffee. The big oversized mugs, the aroma... everything about coffee gets me out of bed in the morning. But as part of my 101 in 1001, I have been trying to get myself to like tea. I can honestly say I've found a few that I really love - green tea with honey, passion tea, and even earl grey breakfast tea. My new favorite though is a rich chai tea latte. This homemade latte is so delicious it can't help but perk up your morning. Chai tea was the perfect drink for Shelby {somethingsouthern} and my fall brunch. Plus, all my friends have been requesting it for our next date night and because it's so inexpensive and easy to make I have no problem volunteering.
I have to admit that I am breaking the norm for Chai Tea in that there should be cardamom, but I didn't have any and I hate buying spices that I only use for a one or two recipes. In fact, that's another reason I ventured to make Chai Tea because over a year ago I bought whole cloves for $8 and have only used about 8 cloves to date. Meaning, my bottle of hundreds of cloves looks like I haven't even touched it!
This isn't a recipe that you have to follow exactly. If you have ground cloves instead of whole use them! If you have almond milk instead of dairy, by all means. There is definitely plenty of wiggle room to get the taste just you to your liking with what's in your pantry!
Hope you enjoy!
